The Band ?!
The concept of a useful connection between farming and music may seem nebulous. History and our own experience say otherwise. A commitment to a locale nourishes not only the crops but relationships between people who live and work there. They often turn out to be creative, kindred spirits. This is certainly the case in our Hopewell, New Jersey. Authenticity and respect for the gifts given and what came before are true to the way we make music and the way we farm.

Taurus Moon (the band) rises from the great American traditions of farming, singing and playing the blues, jazz and evolving musical styles which continue to draw from the rootsy realm. We respect the compositions we cover as much as our originals, always trying to add something to the conversation. Choruses tend to stretch, keys change, improvised sections may be added or dropped all together. We are interested in the dynamic evolution of a performance, rooted to the song’s core but flying freely above the field. We hope your eyebrows get raised and your hips moved.
